This is presented to to end any confusion about where my office is or how to get in touch with me. Nobody else is licensed or certified as a Yass method practitioner. Anyone stating they are performing my method is lying and should not be trusted. Anybody that says they worked for me at some point does not follow my method. Any one who is occupying a former location of one of my past offices is not providing my method. Any monies paid to anybody saying they are using the Yass method should be returned as it was given under a false premise.

Dr Mitchell Yass is the only practitioner at this time able to provide the Yass method for the diagnosis and treatment of pain. I hope this clears up this issue once and for all so nobody else is manipulated into getting substandard treatment based on my and only my standard.

  3. Pain in lumbar and thoracic region. Surgery was performed to replace discs. Leg drags. Drop foot. Sciatica. Mostly right side.

    Can you help?

    1. Hi Avis,

Sorry to hear about your circumstance. Evidence shows that sciatica is the result of the piriformis muscle in the gluteal region impinging on the sciatic nerve due to a strained muscle that sits above the hip joint called the gluteus medius causing the piriformis to try to compensate and strain. This is resolved through targeting strength training. The drop foot issue would have to be investigated as to the cause. The dragging foot is typically also associated with a weak hip muscle limiting the ability to supoorr the leg effectively.

I would certainly think I can help with your symptoms. If you want to discuss the issue further, you can contact me at drmitch@mitchellyass.com.

      Best wishes,

  4. When I was 54 years old, I was bitten by a deer tick. Within 6 months, I was having to use a wheelchair just to get around my home. The resultant Lyme Disease was not diagnosed for 10 years. Now at age 72, I have 8 bent arthritic fingers, neck pain, wrist & shoulder pain and both knee joints are immobile in a sitting position. I will order your CD’s if you think that information could restore my ability to walk, etc. I can come to your office, if necessary. Thank you for taking the time to read this & for any hope or help you can give me.

  7. I’d need to talk with you here. That will be not something I
usually do! I like reading a post that may make people think.
Also, thanks for letting me to comment!

  8. Dr. Yass,

WETA – our local PBS affiliate here in the DC metro area – has been showing your ‘Pain Prescription’ presentation, and some of the information I gleaned there motivated me to contact you. I also like the very obvious respect and enthusiasm with which you appear to treat your clients. We have plenty of competent doctors here in DC, and I can assure you, that element of professionalism is not guaranteed. Some of them practice as if they’re double-parked!

Over the past several months, I’ve had a decreasing range of motion and increasing pain in my right deltoid muscle. To the point where even shooting my hand into the air can cause a very debilitating pain. It can even be painful while sleeping, or attempting to. I’m quite terrified it could mean RC surgery, because I believe the rehab from such is both long and arduous. Although I cannot point to a single impacting incident, I understand that it could possibly be a chronic degradation.

In any event, your methodology has certainly given me a ray of hope that the condition can be resolved with less than surgical intervention. What I would like to know is whether you are able to do remote consultations (eg., via Skype, FaceTime) and also if there may be any general (resistance band) exercises I might be able to do which would be of benefit to the muscle? I would love to resolve it because my son is now turning 5, and getting to the point where he wants to throw the baseball around. I was an effective pitcher in my day, but as I am now, can only engage in underhand tossing.

    All the best,

    Peter W.

    1. Hi Peter,

Yes, i do perform skype evaluations and if the cause is found to be muscular, then i demonstrate and have you perform the specific targeted exercises needed to resolve the pain. If you are interested in setting up a skype evaluation, you can contact my wife Lisa at treesoflife904@gmail.com. She makes all appointments for me and handles all the arrangements.

      Best wishes,

  10. I think the confusion about the office locations is because this page about you shows office addresses in Boca Raton and Farmingdale NY: http://www.cure-back-pain.org/Dr-Mitchell-Yass.html

I will email privately to see if you believe a trip to St. Augustine is a worthwhile undertaking for me to resolve my pain issues.

Thanks for writing The Pain Cure!

    1. Hi Kerry,

that website was one that i contributed to many years ago. that is always one of the concerns i have about the internet. there is no date stamping on items presented. this is how people get confused about what is present and what is in the past. if you would like to discuss coming to st augustine, you can contact my wife at treesoflife904@gmail.com. she handles all my appointments and all the arrangements.

i hope you give me the opportunity to show you that the Yass method can resolve your pain and show you that there is life after pain.

      best wishes,

      dr Yass

  12. I have chronic neck and back pain. I live in New Jersey. Would I be able to send MRI report to evaluate. If I travel to Florida to your office, can treatment plan be done in one trip?

    1. Hi Arlene,

Yes, the goal is to identify the cause of the pain, provide some treatment and perform the exercises to resolve the pain if the cause is found to be muscular. the typical stay is 3 to 5 days. the intent is to get the person to have a full understanding of the cause of the symptoms and an overall understanding of the philosophy that the Yass Method is based upon. My intent is not just to resolve your pain but to give you the understanding of how to interpret symptoms in the future. your understanding of muscle, how it works, why it elicits pain and how to resolve muscular deficits is key to your success in the future. in 90% of cases, the cause is muscular which cannot be found by diagnostic test nor is there any specialty designed to identify these causes other than the Yass Method. I feel it is critical for my method to become the standard of care and primary method used to diagnose and treat pain, that those who have the opportunity to experience get the full understanding of it.

if you would like to make an appointment or have further questions regarding making an appointment, you can contact my wife Lisa at treesoflife904@gmail.com. she makes all appointments for me and handles all the arrangements.

i hope that i have the opportunity to resolve your pain and show you that there is life without pain.

      best wishes,

      dr Yass
